Bridge and Farm of Outeiro

It is 1’5 km far from the Historical Site of Ribadavia, in the parish of Francelos.

From the 12th century the monks of Melón developed several wine farms along the banks of the river Miño, and that of St Xoan of Outeiro, in Francelos, was one of the most important. This “paciego” building employed an important number of people in the wine elaboration of the Head Monastery. The building still maintains its stone fence, its traditional architectonical structure, with the chapel and different buildings used as wine cellars, as well as a recently recovered vine yard.

Near the Farm of Outeiro it is the Bridge, beautiful construction from the 15th century, witness of the "Bandeiriña Battle”, during the resistance struggles against the French troops during the War of Independence.
